CD39，也称为膜外三磷酸腺苷二磷酸水解酶-1（Ectonucleoside triphosphate   diphosphohydrolase-1），由ENTPD1基因编码而成。CD39是一个跨膜蛋白，具有两个跨膜结构域和一个胞外结构域。CD39的活性中心在胞外结构域上，但有研究表明两个跨膜结构域之间的互相作用也会影响酶活性。CD39能与胞外ATP（extracellular   ATP，eATP）结合，并将其水解为AMP；另一种胞外核酸酶CD73则会将AMP水解为腺苷（adenosine，ADO）。
